Our Story

A Taste of Home in Utah

I come from Bashan, also known as Suwayda Governorate, a mountainous region located near the Golan Heights and Israel. I left my homeland years before the genocide against the Druze community.

I came to the United States hoping to build a safer, more stable future for my family. Our journey brought us to Utah, where we began a new chapter and started putting down roots. The flavors of home became one way to build that fresh start.

From Bashan Mountain to our Provo kitchen

Food brings our story to the table.

Food is one of the ways I share what matters to me: hospitality, generosity, and the joy of bringing people together. I created Pita & Olives, our Mediterranean home kitchen in Provo, to share fresh, authentic, homemade food with Utah. From shawarma, hummus, and falafel to traditional dishes like yabrak, each dish offers a chance to discover new flavors and traditions.

Through Pita & Olives, I hope people across Utah County will experience more than a new meal. I hope they feel welcomed, discover something delicious, and leave with a little taste of home.

Hospitality, generosity, and connection

Every dish is an invitation to come curious, share a table, and connect through food.
